Floral Art
'I started growing and drying my own flowers almost 10 years ago when I decided to create my own floral decorations for my wedding. We had fresh flowers on the table, and to take the pressure off doing everything just a day or 2 before the wedding, I found that I could create something beautiful using dried flowers, grasses and seed heads. I loved the long lasting, delicate and faded beauty of dried flowers, and I've been creating with them ever since. I've also developed a love of pressed flowers after buying my first vintage flower press in a charity shop (complete with some pressed flowers someone else had picked and forgotten about!), and so I try to combine as many of my loves as possible when creating with them! I love the transient nature of preserved flora; we can preserve their beauty at a particular moment in time, but it will not last forever, to me, that is even more beautiful!'
