'Badger and Moonlight' is an original mixed media collage made with painted and printed papers.

This collage captures a quiet nighttime moment in the forest, built from layers of painted and printed papers that give the scene a rich, tactile feel. A badger sits among fallen leaves, its fur pieced together from textured blacks, greys, and whites that make it feel both soft and slightly rough, like real fur catching moonlight. The leaves around it—cut from warm reds, ochres, and browns—overlap in a way that feels natural, as if they’ve just shifted under the badger’s paws.

Behind it, tall dark trees rise in deep, crinkled tones, their surfaces showing the marks of brushstrokes and printed textures. Perched on a branch to the right, a pale owl watches quietly, its feathers made from delicate scraps that echo the softness of real plumage. A faint crescent moon peeks through the branches, adding a cool glow that contrasts with the warm forest floor.

Altogether, the combination of hand-painted papers and printed textures creates a scene that feels both handcrafted and atmospheric—a gentle snapshot of woodland life, full of character and quiet stillness.
