The kestrel moves low over a sweep of meadow plants, wings open and steady, each feather built from layered, hand‑painted papers that catch the sense of real flight. The grasses and seed heads below hold a seasonal mix of colour and texture, and tucked among them are three small mice curled up asleep, almost missed unless you look closely. The sky carries looser shapes of distant birds and weather, giving the whole piece a feeling of quiet, purposeful movement—just a raptor crossing its ground while the smaller lives beneath stay hidden and still.
