This collage follows a kingfisher as it bursts up through the water, wings scattering droplets and colour in the same instant. Hand‑painted papers build the layers of reeds, lilies and underwater life, giving the scene that mix of stillness and sudden movement you get in a real wetland. Below the surface, fish slip between plants and stones; above it, the birdhouse and cattails anchor the setting in something familiar. It’s a snapshot of a moment you’d only catch if you were watching closely—the split second between the dive and the lift.
