'On Fox Night' is a mixed media collage that conjures the quiet magic of a nocturnal woodland. Crafted from layers of cut and torn hand printed and painted papers, the piece captures a creeping fox as it moves stealthily through a shadowed forest, bathed in the faint glow of a crescent moon.  The fox is pieced together from warm earth-toned fragments, snipped to give a tactile, almost animated presence, as it slips through the underbrush.  Surrounding it, pale silhouettes of trees rise into a textured sky of deep indigos, the layered papers, paintwork and pastels mimicking the dappled depth of moonlight and foliage.  Above, the crescent moon hangs delicately, a sliver of silver light, casting a luminescence that guides the viewer’s eye through the composition.
